Hip
Hair Makeovers... Everyone
loves a makeover, and we here at Mormonchic.com wanted to get
in on the action. (Heck, our editor-in-chief just wanted a free
makeover!) Check out these transformations! What's
hip in hair today?
We
at Mormonchic.com wanted to find out (and we needed a haircut
of our own) so we headed to our local salons to find out.
We talked with top hair stylists...see what they have to say!

The
Transformation Lynette
Stand heads to Becky's Salon & Day Spa in Lawrence, KS to
get a shorter cut and a more manageable do. Her hair was basically
the same style she wanted, but she needed more shape and body.
Hairstylist Ingrid Pepper cut more shorter layers using scissors
and a razor. Ingrid says a better cut is the secret to better
style. Cutting layers with razor gives Lynette's hair more texture
and volume. Ingrid recommends piecing out the end of the hair
with a pomade like Redken's Water Wax, using a gel at the roots,
blowing it out with a large round brush. |

| Ingrid
starts with damp, clean hair, consulting with Lynette
about how she would like to look. |

| Ingrid
starts with a blunt cut bob on Lynette's head. |

| Then then
works some layers--making the layers shorter on
top. |

| Hairstylists
at Becky's Salon say many women want to reproduce Meg
Ryan's mane, saying lots of girls/women with longer hair
are going for the big chop. |
Instead
of cutting straight layers, Ingrid cuts choppy cuts into
the layers for more movement and texture. One word from
Ingrid, "texture." |
Razors
create even more texture and movement. |
Ingrid's
tip: using a razor to create short layers on the scalp
will create volume at the crown. |
