Love Letter Book

Make a book of special love letters, poems, or other sentimental messages for your someone special. In this book, I found "Twenty-seven Ways You Touch My Heart," a book of photos with different things I love about my husband. Why 27? This was a birthday present for him on his 27th birthday, but it will make a good Valentines gift as well. The cover of this book is decorated with colored paper strips rolled up as roses and glued on. Glitter was added for a special touch.

Supplies:
-letter-size 110 lb cardstock in neutral color
-letter-size 20 lb paper in pinks and greens (or whatever color you want to accent the book)
-photos
-three brads (the gold fasteners)
- decorative scissors
-pen
-white craft glue
-scrapbook tape
- micro-fine glitter

Step by Step:
1. Cut cardstock in 6 x 7” pieces.

2. Tape 4 x 6” photos to the card so that you have one inch margin on the top and bottom. Center the picture so there is 1/2” margin on the right and left margins.

3. On the bottom margins of the pages, write your special message.

4. On the top inch margins of the pages, evenly punch three holes for the binding.

5. Place the brads through the pages and close them on the back.

6. Decorate the cover any way you like. In the example above, quilling was used to create flowers. To do this, cut paper into 1/8” wide strips. Roll the strips tightly and gently let go to form the quill. Glue it shut using white craft glue. Apply more craft glue to the book cover and place the quill down flat. Apply gentle pressure until it sticks to the page. Garnish with glitter.

Valentine Bookmarks

This fun bookmarks are very cute, very inexpensive, and very easy to make Use some 20-50 gauge wire to bend into fun heart or letter shapes. Make sure the wire has a place to hold the pages to make a true bookmark.

Valentine Coupon Book

Make a book of a collection of homemade coupons for your loved one. This is not a new idea, but if you take time to make a special cover and take it to a print shop to be bound nicely, it will make for a professional, yet inexpensive gift.

Baked Clay Picture Frame

Make this cute frame for just a couple of dollars. Purchase some polymer clay and mix it to create just the right pink color for your frame. Flatten the clay with a pasta machine, or with a simple rolling pin. Using scrapbooking scissors, trim the clay to fit the frame you want to cover. (We use the plastic, clear picture frames.)

Using a knife, cut out a hole of the picture frame. Make some darker pink clay for the hearts. Using a simple heart punch, punch through the darker pink clay. Set aside. Take white clay and roll out very thin snakelike rolls. Place the snake rolls around the opening you cut out and place the hearts as you like them.

Place the clay frame on a cookie sheet and bake according to the instructions on the clay package.

Let cool, and spray with a clear varnish if you desire. Using a hot glue gun, attach the clay to the plastic frame.

Huge Hershey's Kiss

This is such a fun project! Melt chocolate chips in a bowl in a microwave till smooth. Place a clean funnel on a plate. Stuff a little bit of tin foil in the neck of the funnel. Spray the funnel with a nonstick cooking spray. Place the funnel on its neck on the plate. Be careful not to tip it. It will hold up if you're careful.

Spoon the melted chocolate into the funnel. Wait overnight. Remove the dried chocolate from the funnel. If it's hard to get out, take a knife and run it around the perimeter of the funnel until it slides out.

Wrap the kiss in tin foil and make a little message to stick out the top. This is a really cute project that anyway Valentine would love to receive.

Rafia-Bound Notepad

Don't have much time or money? Take a few sheets of paper and punch a few holes in the top. String rafia through the holes and tie off. Add a cute little dried or artificial flower and trim the bottom of the paper with scrapbook scissors. This makes a cute little notepad Valentine gift.
