Secret Sister Gifts You Can Make...One of the best things about Girls Camp is the tradition of Secret Sisters. (The fun activity of trading names and secretly giving gifts to another camper.) Secret Sister gifts don't have to be expensive or elaborate, but fun, sometimes wacky things, that will make other campers smile.

Buggy/Flower Frames

Cover the outer edge of an acrylic picture frame with stickers like bugs or flowers. You can even personalize the frame with their name or simply GIRLS CAMP 2002. If using this idea for a secret sister who is spending her first year at camp, get a fun picture of her family from her mom and place it in the frame as part of your gift. It will help remind her of home and might make her just a little less homesick.

Clay Beads

If you've never made your own clay beads, then you have to do this project. It's so much fun, you'll make them for your Secret Sister, your friends, your family, and yourself.

HOW TO:
Purchase polymer clay (plastic clay that bakes right in the oven, such as Sculpty). Form beads by rolling clay into small balls. Use a needle, pencil, or other sharp object to pierce the bead to make the hole. (Note, as always, use caution when using sharp objects. Children must be accompanied by an adult.) Make sure the hole is large enough for the thread to go through (but don't thread the beads just yet.) Place beads on a clean cookie sheet and bake in oven at 250 degrees for 15-20 minutes. Let cool, and string with thread.

JELLY ROLL BEADS
Using a rolling pin or pasta machine, roll out the clay into a thin even layer. Set aside. Repeat the step with a contrasting color of clay. Place one sheet on top of the other and cut out a rectangle in both sheets. Remove excess and roll the rectangle into a "jelly roll" (or long snake-like roll). Using a knife or piece of string, chop the roll into 1/4 inch tubes. Now you have the jelly roll beads. Make a hole through each bead, bake, and let cool as above.

MARBLE BEADS
Take two contrasting colors of clay. Mash the two together with your hands. Continue mashing and mixing together until your clay is marbleized. Continue to mix clay until desired look is achieved. Follow regular steps as mentioned above.
