| 1.
PRIME board. Let dry. Sand lightly. |
|
|
2.
PAINT lavender. Let dry. 3.
DAB on patches of glaze lightly with slightly
damp sponge. (To make glaze more opaque, mix
it with paint.). Let dry.
|
| 4.
PENCIL lines for inches and feet on right front
at edge using ruler. Start numbers at the
height from the floor (for example, if 1 foot
above floor, start with 1 foot; 2 feet above,
start with 2 feet). Outline pot, vine and
leaves. |
|
|
5.
PAINT vine dark green, leaves lighter green, pot
yellow. When dry, decorate pot to suit your
style and taste. Add highlights to leaves
and flower buds if desired. |
CC
TIP:
To paint the lines and numbers for growth chart
we suggest using a black paint pen. Also
consider using a paint pen to draw/paint the vine,
we think it might cut down on time and give a
cleaner look.
REMOVE flowers from stems. Glue blossoms
to desired spots along vine.
WD Removing Stems TIP: Usually the stem
and calyx can be pulled off the back of the flower,
leaving a small plastic peg that holds the center
and petals together. Trim peg flat with
scissors or a craft knife before gluing flower
to a surface. |

|
CC
TIP: My father-in-law
helped me drill shallow holes (not all the way
through the board) to insert each flower into.
We filled the hole with hot glue and inserted
the flower for a more secure hold. |
HANGING
OPTIONS:
1.
DRILL holes for screws 1 inch from center top
and bottom of board. Screw board to wall
1 or 2 feet above floor.
2.
DRILL holes at top of board - approximately 1
inch from top and 2 inches from each side.
Using a bright 1 1/2 - 2 inch wide ribbon thread
through holes to create a hanger. CC NOTE:
There are lots of different ways to tie off the
ribbon. Tie a bow at the top, simply knot
the ribbon and have the knot show at the top,
hide knot behind board, etc. Play with your
options to find a look that's right for you.
Hang board 1-2 feet above floor. |
