-Two
flat sheets for your duvet size (or fabric in the
following sizes)
Twin: 66 cm x 88 cm
Full/Queen: 88 cm x 88 cm
King: 100 cm x 88 cm
Wondering what size sheets you will need? The
best thing to do is measure your duvet. Every manufacture
has different dimensions, so measure your duvet, then
purchase two flat sheets that best meet its size.
Most all sheet packages list dimensions on them (at
least in the US), if you find that your duvet is right
between two sheet sizes, it is better to go for the
smaller size. This allows less room for your duvet
to shift and bunch. |

You can use a duvet to cover
a down comforter or even a regular comforter (just be
sure your duvet cover is dark enough to cover the pattern
on your comforter). They are an inexpensive way to spruce
up your bedroom decor.
Use two different colors of sheets, that way you
can flip it over and have a new look.
Is your down comforter getting flat? Are the feathers
clumped together? Throw it in the dryer on the air setting
with a clean tennis shoe. This will help to "fluff"
it back up.
A great place to buy down comforters: The
Company Store they have comforters for every climate,
and have great annual sale prices.

1.
Pre-wash fabric or sheets.
2.
Lay sheets on top of each other, right sides together.
Sew almost completely around the four sides, leaving
1/4" seam. The edge of the sheets that has
the cuff should be sewed 3/4 of the way closed,
leaving a 12-14" opening. (SEE FIGURE A)
3.
Press seams open (for a more professional look)
and turn duvet right-side out.

4.
Sew Buttons (or see OTHER VARIATIONS) onto the cuffed
edge, so that the opening may be closed. Sew the
button on the right side of the cuff, so that when
buttoned it folds in. (SEE FIGURES B1 and B2)
5.
Place duvet cover over comforter and enjoy!
OTHER
VARIATIONS
You don't have to use buttons
to close the opening, instead, you can use a zipper,
snaps, or Velcro strips. If you do use Velcro, DO
NOT use adhesive Velcro because it can fall off
in the wash. Instead, sew on the Velcro.
